There have been many proposals over the years to (re)establish service to the parts of Iowa where the people actually live, maybe this is a sign it might actually happen. Half full people.

The light rail connection to the train station from the airport isn't bad, but it's an iffy neighborhood. PDX is a better airport than most, but I still hate flying.
A seat being filled to MLK doesn't prevent it being sold north of MLK, or am I not understanding this? And no brats is a crime, I'd like pork fritters too but maybe the're waving that for an Iowa train?
My 2 cents is that with the current carry-on allowances being greater for sleepers on Amtrak than VIA, I'm not sure if I'm ever going to take it all the way from Toronto to Vancouver or vice versa. I have medical issues that mean I needed every bit of Amtrak's generous in cabin luggage...
I just checked for 5/29 and the Borealis came in at $41 for coach and the EB at $77, business on the Borealis was $98, but as bookings increase this will no doubt change.
