We always liked going to New Orleans once a year on the Crescent from Greenville but now it doesn’t get back to Greenville until 3-5 in the AM so our days of having fun in New Orleans is over. Before the schedule change on the last trip we had didn’t arrive in NOL until midnight and the bars had...
I remember boarding at 10 something in the evening and arriving in DC about 9. Now it’s usually around Greenville about 3 to 5 in the morning. I am finished with them now because you loose a night’s sleep plus the next day is wasted. Easier to drive and still cheaper.
Why do you need NS to switch it out? Howell Y is close by and the Crescent is turned on it by Amtrak crews when it terminates in Atlanta and there is a spur at the station with a north lead that can hold the whole consist.
Not just proper billing involved but many other things go out to so called government agencies for record keeping. Food shipments are the same way with no paperwork involved, just the internet.
How are we suppose to get around once in a city without a vehicle? Only reason I go is to deliver something or pick up needed supplies which I need a vehicle for both like a pickup truck.
I don’t think I want to be on Amtrak if there’s a cyber attack done by anyone. The diesel fuel supply would be shut off very quickly and as soon as the trucks stop hauling it I wouldn’t give but 8 to 12 hours there would be no fuel due to panic buying. Norfolk Southern yard in Linwood is back...
I think travel will decrease due to people’s money being spent on essentials like food and gas to get to work. My costs are almost $1.00 a mile on fuel in a tractor trailer now so no way will freight that pays less than $5.00 a mile go the trailer. That’s going to raise the end customer cost but...
How do you know if someone has it anyway? I meet many people everyday and never see them again. I don’t know if they get sick later. To me the question is meaningless.
